SAM's Corner Bar

August 29, 2014 was a night that held many emotions for Sarah and myself. This was our last day of business at our bar, which was our livelihood for over a year and a half. We met many exceptionally great people and grew friendships with several other people we hardly knew. As we greatly missed our staff from my pre-sickness, the staff we grew to know post-sickness were tremendous people as well and we sincerely hope to continue a relationship with all of them.
Our business closed because we chose to close it. Granted there were many contributing factors and unexpected and unforeseen circumstances, but they were not the only factors in our decision. I flat out cannot work. Not to get too much into my schedule, but I used to work most of the hours and now having the payroll we incurred post-sickness was tough to swallow.
I'd like to thank all the people that helped build and maintain the maintenance on the bar throughout our time here including, but not forgetting others, my dad and Jeff Kelm who were instrumental in constructing the bar itself. We are saddened to have to close the bar, and hope that we can sell it to somebody that can continue to provide good service and good food to the community. The New Richmond News was in this past Friday for our last day and took some pictures but we are not ready to make a public statement to them as we don't want to celebrate our closing.
Thank you all for your patriotism and for the good times and kind words, they will not be forgotten. As I mentioned in a facebook post about a week ago, Sarah is a full time student working in the medical field and until further notice I will be a stay at home daddy. Good luck to us, and good luck to everyone else, this is not a goodbye but this is a hope to stay in touch and to see you around..

Cheers and God Bless!!
